Residents who commute to jobs outside of Rosemount drive several miles on four-lane Country Road 42, which connects to I-35 and Hwy 52, both of which provide access to the metro area. The city’s primary retail shopping district also lies on the County Road 42 corridor, and Apple Valley is just west of the city.
The housing boom means that the home inventory in Rosemount is mainly of more recent construction, and in developments with meandering streets and cul-de-sacs, mixed with more traditional grid layouts. In the under $100,000 price range, Rosemount MLS listings are limited to condominiums and townhouses, typically on the small side. In the $100-200,000 price range MLS listings number around 100, with townhouses dominating the lower half of the range. Modest, older single-family homes begin to appear at about $160,000 and become dominant as you approach the top of the range. From $200-300,000, single-family homes become more spacious and are of more recent construction, with spacious, immaculate homes in attractive neighborhoods at the top of the price range. Large recently constructed homes with superior appointments are the feature of the over $300,000 price range, with some on man-made water features and all in very pleasant surroundings. Above $400,000, expansive executive homes with luxury features and located on beautiful properties are available. The Rosemount home market generally peaks at about $700,000. Vacant land, suitable for development is also available.
